Senior Associate Attorney

A law firm in San Jose, CA, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney with a robust background in family law. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience handling divorce, child custody, and domestic violence cases, and will be well-versed in Colorado Family Law statutes. This role involves leading complex cases, mentoring junior attorneys, and providing expert legal counsel while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess their legal needs and secure their representation.
• Provide expert legal advice on various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and property division.
• Represent clients as the lead attorney (1st chair) in court proceedings, including mediation, depositions, and trials.
• Develop and implement effective case strategies aligned with clients' goals and best interests.
• Prepare and draft essential legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and court orders.
• Negotiate settlements and manage disputes in both contested and uncontested family law cases.
• Mentor and train junior attorneys and support staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
• Stay informed about Colorado Family Law statutes and regulations to ensure accurate and effective case management.
• Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and empathetic support.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Colorado State Bar.
• 4+ years of experience in family law, with a focus on divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and related matters.
• Expertise in Colorado Family Law statutes (required).
