Job Overview:

A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, seeks a dynamic and motivated Tax Credit and Impact Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 0-5 years of transactional experience and a strong interest in community development transactions, with a focus on new markets tax credits (NMTCs), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs), and/or renewable energy investment tax credits (RETCs).

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to tax credits, impact finance, and community development transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including transaction agreements, financing documents, and regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to facilitate successful transactions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends related to tax credits and impact finance.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of transactional experience.
  • Strong interest in community development transactions involving NMTCs, HTCs, and/or RETCs.
  • Experience with NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs is advantageous.
  • Commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience are desirable.
  • Active license to practice law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
