Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property group. Location:

• Wilmington, DE

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering, software, computer science, and related fields
• Collaborate with clients to develop patent strategies and understand their inventions
• Provide counsel on patentability, patent portfolio management, and intellectual property strategies
• Represent clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
• Work in a collaborative, client-focused, and team-oriented environment

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Technical expertise in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patents related to AI and machine learning preferred
• Must be admitted to practice before the USPTO
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and client-focused environment
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field

Certifications:

• Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Skills:

• Patent preparation and prosecution expertise
• Proficient in drafting patent claims, specifications, and supporting documentation
