The law firm is seeking a dynamic and talented Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, 2+ years of relevant experience, and expertise in electrical engineering or computer science. The position is based in Kansas City.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities in the field of electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients in matters related to data science, AI, networking technologies, and hardware security.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement legal strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparations.
  • Draft legal documents, including patent applications, opinions, and correspondence.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) are required.
  • Strong academic achievement and a track record of success.
  • Solid law firm experience with a focus on electrical engineering or software-related technologies.
  • Preferred experience in data science/AI, networking technologies (especially network security), machine learning/AI, and hardware security.
