A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an experienced Public Finance Attorney with a strong background in bond or issuer's counsel for tax-exempt finance or experience with tax credits or municipal law. The ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, strong research and writing skills, and a keen attention to detail. An LLM is preferred and will be given extra consideration.

Duties:

  • Serve as bond or issuer's counsel in tax-exempt finance transactions.
  • Provide expert legal advice on public finance matters, including tax credits and municipal law.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on complex financial and regulatory issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents related to public finance transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations affecting public finance.
  • Prepare and present legal opinions, memoranda, and reports on public finance matters.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, ensuring high-quality legal service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as bond or issuer's counsel in tax-exempt finance or related fields such as tax credits or municipal law.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong research and writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to legal analysis and documentation.
  • An LLM (Master of Laws) degree is preferred and will be given extra consideration.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An LLM (Master of Laws) degree is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the relevant state (Arizona preferred).

Skills:

  • Expertise in public finance, including tax-exempt finance, tax credits, and municipal law.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
