Job Overview

A law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join its team in the Minneapolis office. This position is ideal for a candidate with at least seven years of employment law experience, including litigation, employment counseling, and policy drafting. Duties

  • Handle complex employment law litigation, including wage and hour disputes, employment discrimination, and non-compete cases.
  • Lead responses to EEOC charges and similar state/local agency charges.
  • Provide employment counseling, including advising on separation agreements, non-competes, and executive employment contracts.
  • Draft and review employment policies and agreements.
  • Manage a diverse workload with a focus on client service and high-quality legal work.
  • Collaborate with clients to address legal issues related to employment practices.
  • Represent clients in both litigation and negotiation settings.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of experience in employment law, with a focus on litigation and counseling.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sophisticated employment law matters at a national level.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and maturity to manage client relationships.
  • Strong academic background with a J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Minnesota, or eligibility to become admitted to the Minnesota bar.
  • Admission to the California bar and/or experience litigating in California is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active attorney license in Minnesota (required).
  • California bar admission (preferred but not required).

  • Expertise in employment law, particularly in litigation, wage and hour disputes, and employment discrimination.
  • Proficient in employment counseling and policy drafting.
  • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
