Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Charlotte, NC office. This position offers the opportunity to handle a variety of legal duties, including court appearances, litigation motions, trials, and communication with clients. The firm is looking for an attorney who is licensed in North Carolina and has the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Prepare for and appear at court hearings within reasonable travel distance from the office.
  • Ensure timely court appearances, with potential for overnight travel for certain locations.
  • Review and request court coverage for any missed court appearances, including attaching necessary documents and orders.
  • Draft, review, and file motions during litigation proceedings.
  • Assist in trial and arbitration preparation, which may require overnight travel to distant counties.
  • Communicate effectively with consumers, employers, and opposing attorneys to resolve accounts and legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Additional state bar memberships (SC, IA, MO, KS, IL, NY, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) are a plus.
  • Ability to consistently appear in court and travel to various locations using personal transportation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in North Carolina.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and litigation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
