Job Overview: A law firm with offices across the Southwest is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3-7 years of experience to join its team in Irvine, CA. This position focuses on handling complex construction and business-related litigation and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience representing professionals in the construction industry, along with strong litigation and contract negotiation skills. Experience with insurance clients is preferred.

Duties:

  • Represent design professionals, contractors, manufacturers, and owners in construction-related litigation and transactions.
  • Handle a variety of cases involving construction projects, including high-value private and public works projects, catastrophic personal injury cases, and contract disputes.
  • Manage contract creation, negotiation, and claims assistance throughout the design and construction phases of multi-million and multi-billion-dollar projects.
  • Conduct lien actions, mediation, arbitration, litigation, trial, and appellate work as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with insurance carriers and clients to ensure effective case management.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in construction and business law, with an emphasis on litigation.
  • Strong experience handling construction-related disputes and contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with insurance client representation is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
