Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join their thriving Patent Prosecution & Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, along with expertise in drafting patent applications and prosecuting IP matters. Duties

• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications for electrical or mechanical technologies
• Conduct patent searches and provide strategic IP advice
• Assist with litigation support, including the preparation of expert reports and analysis
• Collaborate with clients and other team members to ensure high-quality patent prosecution
• Manage patent portfolios and advise on IP strategy
• Stay updated on changes in patent law and industry trends
• Provide support in the preparation of patent litigation matters

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including patent application drafting
• Strong understanding of patent law and procedures, particularly before the USPTO
• Registered with the USPTO as a Patent Agent
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Experience in patent litigation or additional IP expertise is a plus

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related field

Certifications

• USPTO Patent Agent Registration
