Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Attorney (Associate) with a strong foundation in immigration law. The ideal candidate will collaborate with an experienced team of attorneys and legal assistants to manage a diverse caseload, conduct strategic consultations, and represent clients in various immigration-related proceedings.

Duties:

  • Provide clear explanations of immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings, appearing before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Oversee a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progress and resolution.
  • Conduct intake and regular visits to meet with detained clients at designated centers.
  • Prepare and submit various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on evolving immigration laws and practices.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients, developing a tailored approach for each case.
  • Develop court strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
  • Analyze cases to identify potential legal benefits and prepare legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with a team, contributing to shared case strategies and support.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • High-level interpersonal skills and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to advance cases and manage a full caseload efficiently.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Active license to practice law.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
