Job Title: Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview

Duties

  • Advise clients on various immigration issues and provide strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage and prioritize a high volume of immigration cases, ensuring timely and accurate legal representation.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based immigration, and other petitions.
  • Review and revise immigration petitions to ensure they meet necessary legal standards.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on matters related to immigration law changes.
  • Meet with prospective clients to provide legal consultations and develop tailored strategies for their cases.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide comprehensive legal analysis and strategic advice to clients on immigration matters.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven track record of managing and advancing immigration cases.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Cases, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Proficient with case management software (preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and assist colleagues as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in CA.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop strategies and communicate effectively with clients.
