Duties:

  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and develop defense strategies
  • Participate in courtroom proceedings, including trials and hearings
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and plea agreements
  • Maintain open and effective communication with clients
  • Stay informed about updates in criminal law and legal regulations
  • Work towards achieving the best possible outcomes for clients accused of crimes
  • Engage with the local community and maintain strong ties within the region

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal defense or prosecution, with experience in both misdemeanor and felony cases
  • Jury trial experience is preferred, though not mandatory
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to client advocacy
  • Significant ties to the Reno/Sparks community and active involvement in the local area

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Nevada State Bar
