This role involves providing expert legal counsel on a range of renewable energy projects, focusing particularly on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities, as well as a strong grasp of smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. Essential qualities include a commitment to client service, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication. The position requires a JD degree, active Bar membership, and a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel clients on legal aspects of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Manage the negotiation, drafting, and execution of power purchase agreements and other relevant contracts.
  • Provide legal guidance on facilities operations, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
  • Advise on smart grid technology, energy storage solutions, and energy efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on emerging trends and technologies in the renewable energy sector.
  • Collaborate with clients, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve legal issues and support project success.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes and challenges related to renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain a portable book of business, showcasing a strong client base in the renewable energy industry.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.
  • Proven track record of a portable book of business.
  • Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency.
