Job Overview:

Location:

  • Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), including detained and non-detained individuals.
  • Prepare and submit various immigration applications, such as removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS filings.
  • Conduct case management, including client intake and ongoing case updates.
  • Visit detained individuals and conduct intakes at immigration detention centers.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and develop case strategies for clients.
  • Review and revise immigration applications and petitions to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay updated on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances or USCIS interviews.
  • Draft legal briefs and other documents to support immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong record of managing cases and advancing them through legal processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to handle complex immigration matters independently and collaboratively.
  • High level of client management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of immigration law, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and other USCIS applications.
