Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with 5-7 years of litigation experience to join its Subrogation & Recovery Department. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation cases involving property damage claims, collaborating with experienced attorneys and forensic experts in a dynamic environment.

Location

  • Miami, Florida

Duties

  • Represent corporate clients in Federal and State Courts in civil actions related to property damage.
  • Collaborate with forensic experts to investigate and evaluate the legal and financial viability of causes of action in single and multi-party litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and briefs.
  • Prepare for and present at court hearings.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
  • Minimum of five years of litigation experience, preferably in cases involving:
    • Product defect claims.
    • Property damage claims.
    • Construction issues.
    • Property insurance claims.
  • Experience collaborating with forensic experts, such as specialists in fire origin and cause, mechanical, electrical, structural, and other technical fields, is highly desired.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Skills

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting thorough legal research.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective in presenting oral arguments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
