Entry Level Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Entry Level Immigration Attorney. Location:

• Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

• Explain complex immigration concepts to clients and offer strategic legal solutions.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases and ensure their timely progress.
• Visit detention centers to conduct intake interviews with detained individuals.
• Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and adjust immigration applications and documents as necessary.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients for consultations to determine the necessary immigration strategy.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to clients to identify possible benefits or risks in their cases.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of immigration law experience.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to working with associates and support staff.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to move legal cases forward and effectively manage a caseload.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Arizona (or eligible to be licensed in Arizona).
