This position offers an opportunity to work on complex insurance defense matters, primarily focusing on workers' compensation claims for clients including insurance carriers, employers, and government entities. Duties:

  • Consult with clients to provide legal counsel and guidance regarding workers' compensation claims
  • Attend hearings and court appearances
  • Take depositions and assist in trial preparation
  • Prepare and respond to motions and legal briefs
  • Handle discovery processes and documentation
  • Adhere to the firm’s ethical standards, policies, and operational guidelines

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense; open to entry-level associates with a strong interest in the field
  • Active North Carolina bar license in good standing
  • Strong attention to detail, a results-driven approach, and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proven experience in drafting legal documents, including briefs, motions, and other necessary filings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in legal research, organizational tasks, and analysis
  • Experience in client relations and providing high-quality customer service
  • Experience taking depositions and handling discovery matters

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • North Carolina Bar License in good standing
