Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on insurance coverage matters, with a focus on professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Analyze and interpret complex insurance policies and coverage issues to advise clients on their rights and obligations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate insurance-related documents, including policies, contracts, and regulatory submissions.
  • Represent clients in insurance coverage disputes and commercial litigation, handling cases through arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other litigation materials.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide detailed analysis on insurance and reinsurance matters.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for case management to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients, insurance professionals, and internal teams to address and resolve insurance claims and coverage challenges.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and legal developments affecting insurance law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
  • Strong understanding of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.
