Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A leading law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is actively seeking an experienced Associate Immigration Attorney to join a dynamic legal team specializing in immigration law. This role involves working closely with an experienced team of attorneys and legal assistants, ensuring client success across a variety of immigration cases.

Duties:

  • Present immigration concepts and provide tailored legal solutions for clients.
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Handle a diverse caseload of immigration cases, maintaining a high level of client communication.
  • Conduct intake assessments with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including those for removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and amend immigration application packets as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law developments.
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients to devise legal strategies.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide clients with comprehensive legal analysis to identify case benefits.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs across a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong team orientation, with a willingness to collaborate with associates and other team members.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities, with a client-focused approach.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and advance multiple cases.
  • Practical experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar and authorization to practice law.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in a State Bar Association.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts.
  • Skilled in preparing and presenting legal arguments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
