Junior Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Junior Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will engage in all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals. This role involves significant responsibilities in legal research, drafting, discovery, and client interaction, making it an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to develop their litigation skills.

Duties:

• Handle all phases of commercial litigation, including trials and appeals.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft memoranda on complex legal issues.
• Prepare and draft briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents with precision and clarity.
• Engage in discovery processes, including propounding and responding to discovery requests, managing document production, and taking and defending depositions.
• Collaborate closely with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel to develop case strategies and gather evidence.
• Manage and organize large volumes of documents and data using e-discovery and document management technologies.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, adversaries, and courts to advocate for client interests.
• Participate in client meetings and offer strategic legal advice.
• Maintain a high standard of client service and responsiveness.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to a collegial and supportive workplace.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Exceptional writing and analytical skills, with a proven ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral advocacy skills, with the ability to present arguments effectively in court.
• Proficiency in e-discovery, data/document management applications, and related technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration.
• Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship experience is a plus.
• Previous experience in a law firm setting is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the Texas Bar.
