A law firm in Miami Beach, Florida, is seeking an In-house Legal Counsel to oversee all legal matters, ensure compliance, and provide strategic guidance to senior management across various legal fields.

 

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of legal issues including labor, ethics, corporate governance, and commercial law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Manage litigation and legal proceedings, coordinating with external counsel as necessary.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies in collaboration with the Ethics and Compliance department.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters, including board meetings and shareholder relations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks through proactive strategies.
  • Guide the company on employment-related issues and employee relations.
  • Conduct legal training sessions for employees to ensure compliance and understanding of legal responsibilities.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the company.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.
  • 5-7 years of legal experience, with significant experience in a corporate setting.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven expertise in corporate, commercial, labor, and ethics law.
  • Experience in managing legal proceedings and coordinating with external attorneys.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in corporate governance and compliance matters.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Florida Bar (required).
