Job Responsibilities:

  • Litigation:
    • Handle employment-related litigation matters, including responses to charges of discrimination filed with the EEOC and local agencies.
    • Manage discovery matters, ensuring thorough and accurate collection and review of relevant documentation.
    • Draft dispositive motions and other critical legal documents with precision and adherence to legal standards.
  • Consultation:
    • Provide day-to-day legal advice and consultation to clients on various employment issues.
    • Address hiring, discipline, and termination matters, offering sound legal guidance.
    • Advise on wage and hour issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Respond to medical and other leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Compliance and Investigations:
    • Conduct comprehensive workplace investigations, document findings, and advise on appropriate actions.
    • Ensure clients’ adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws through proactive compliance measures.
  • Client Relations:
    • Foster and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and support.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored legal solutions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law.
  • Proven experience handling employment-related litigation, including responses to EEOC and local agency charges.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage discovery matters and draft dispositive motions.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Strong background in providing legal advice on employment issues, including hiring, discipline, termination, and wage and hour compliance.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing membership in the State Bar of Indiana.
