A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking an Estate Planning and Tax Attorney with 2-4 years of experience and approximately 4,000 hours in drafting estate plans, trust documents, conveyance instruments, and related documents. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of tax laws, rules, and regulations, particularly in federal income tax filings and reporting, as well as estate tax laws. Experience advising high net-worth families and entrepreneurs in estate planning, tax planning, and asset control is preferred.

Duties:

  • Draft estate plans, trust documents, conveyance instruments, and related documents
  • Research and apply fiduciary responsibilities to estate plans
  • Evaluate asset values against IRS regulations governing estate tax
  • Provide substantive advice on complex, non-exempt estate plans
  • Review federal income tax returns and research guidance on specific issues
  • Assist in the Firm’s corporate transaction department, including M&A and capital markets
  • Advise high net-worth families and entrepreneurs in all aspects of estate planning and tax planning
  • Conduct professional and ethical interactions with high net-worth individuals with exempt estates

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in estate planning and tax law
  • Knowledge of federal income tax filings, reporting, and estate tax laws
  • Experience drafting complex estate plans and trust documents
  • Ability to advise on tax planning, asset control, and family dynamic issues
  • Familiarity with reviewing complex federal income tax returns
  • Technical proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar
