A law firm seeks a civil litigation associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to assist in representing plaintiffs and defendants in state courts throughout Texas. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of civil litigation, from drafting pleadings to attending trials and mediations. Duties:

  • Handle civil litigation cases from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and managing discovery.
  • Conduct witness interviews, review documents, and engage in deposition discovery.
  • Represent clients in court arguments, mediation sessions, and trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure effective representation.
  • Draft and file legal motions, discovery responses, and other necessary court documents.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Licensed by the State Bar of Texas and in good standing.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience handling civil litigation files, with oil and gas or property litigation experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills and courtroom experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting discovery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
