Defense Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Defense Litigation Attorney to join its legal team in Coral Gables, FL. Duties:

• Represent clients in various civil litigation matters, including personal injury, premises liability, and insurance defense cases.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and decisions.
• Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients.
• Attend and represent clients at court hearings, trials, and depositions.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients regarding their cases and legal rights.
• Keep abreast of current developments in relevant laws and regulations to inform case handling.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other legal professionals to ensure effective case management.
• Maintain detailed case files and documentation throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• 3-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a focus on personal injury law, premises liability, and insurance defense.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
• Proven experience with settlement negotiations, court appearances, and case preparation.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in legal research, with experience using tools like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the Florida Bar (Required).
