Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in insurance coverage matters and a strong background in legal research, brief drafting, and client representation.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analyses of insurance claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests effectively.
• Coordinate expert witness retention and collaboration.
• Prepare thoroughly for trials and attend as required.
• Occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings or hearings.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in insurance coverage law preferred.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice law in Oregon and other states is advantageous.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Prompt responsiveness to e-mail and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client management skills and professional telephone manners.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice law in Oregon; additional state admissions are beneficial.
