Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled EOIR Immigration Attorney to join their San Antonio, TX team. This role involves representing clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, managing a diverse caseload, and providing strategic legal solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of advancing legal cases.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage and prioritize a workload of cases effectively.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and revise immigration applications/packets as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law updates.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to determine the appropriate legal strategy.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients' cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and advance a caseload effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • High level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Case Management Software (preferred).
