Senior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney

A law firm in New Haven, CT, is seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney with over 6 years of experience in trademark law. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in all facets of domestic and global trademark prosecution, strategy, enforcement, and management. They should excel in trademark counseling, conducting clearance searches and analysis, prosecution and maintenance of trademarks, portfolio management, handling trademark disputes, internet and e-commerce issues, and online investigations and enforcement matters. Additionally, candidates should have significant experience in structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements and contractual provisions related to intellectual property and trademarks. Knowledge of managing IP due diligence, litigation discovery, and trademark disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) is highly beneficial. The role requires exceptional technical, professional, and client service skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy abilities. Active Bar admission in good standing in the jurisdiction is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee trademark prosecution efforts, advising clients on trademark matters, conducting clearance searches, and analyzing search results.
• Develop and execute comprehensive trademark strategies to protect and enforce clients' rights globally.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to intellectual property and trademarks, including licensing agreements and IP assignments.
• Manage trademark disputes, including proceedings before the TTAB and other dispute resolution forums.
• Conduct IP due diligence and coordinate litigation discovery pertaining to trademark disputes.
• Provide legal counsel on internet and e-commerce issues affecting trademark rights and enforcement.
• Maintain strong client relationships, delivering high-quality client service and strategic legal advice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar in good standing in Connecticut.
• 6+ years of experience in trademark law, emphasizing prosecution and enforcement.
• Extensive knowledge of trademark counseling, clearance searches, and trademark prosecution.
• Proven track record in managing complex trademark disputes and litigation.
