Job Overview
A highly regarded immigration law firm in Miami Beach, FL is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with extensive experience in responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other agency-issued case challenges. This role requires advanced legal research, persuasive writing, and a deep understanding of immigration law and humanitarian-based petitions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading case strategy, mentoring junior attorneys, and maintaining high standards of client advocacy in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties

  • Review and analyze RFEs, NOIDs, and denial letters from USCIS and other immigration agencies

  • Draft detailed, well-supported responses including affidavits, legal memoranda, and supporting exhibits

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to strengthen case arguments and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and clients to collect and prepare supporting documentation

  • Advise clients on legal strategies in response to complex immigration challenges

  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior attorneys and paralegal staff

  • Track and manage multiple case deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency

  • Monitor and interpret changes in immigration policy, adjudication trends, and procedural updates

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of experience practicing immigration law, with significant focus on RFEs, NOIDs, and family/humanitarian-based petitions

  • Strong track record handling asylum, removal defense, T visas, U visas, and VAWA cases

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines

  • Comfortable managing high-volume caseloads and mentoring legal staff

  • Advanced written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency with immigration case management systems and legal tech tools

  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required

  • Writing sample required (legal brief or similar, with personal details redacted)

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (in good standing)

Skills

  • Advanced legal writing and brief drafting

  • In-depth legal research and case analysis

  • Team leadership and staff supervision

  • Strategic case planning and legal counseling

  • Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus
