The role involves handling litigation, providing employment law advice, and working on complex business disputes.

Duties:

  • Represent employers in wage and hour disputes, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims.
  • Participate in class action and PAGA lawsuits, providing a strong defense for employer clients.
  • Draft and review employee handbooks, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Advise clients on employment law compliance and best practices.
  • Manage litigation processes from start to finish, including discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Handle complex business law disputes, including breach of contract, intellectual property, and trade secret claims.
  • Collaborate with the team on defending public schools in employment law, sexual abuse, and personal injury cases.

Requirements:

  • An active member of the California Bar.
  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for those with employment law expertise.
  • Strong desire to improve litigation skills and manage cases independently.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong case management abilities.
  • Ability to conduct civil jury trials and argue motions effectively.
