Junior Legal Partner Tax, Estates, and Small Business Law

Job Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of a law firm seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Legal Partner with a strong book of business, approximately $300,000, to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in tax law, estate planning and administration, and small business law. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, providing top-tier legal services, and contributing to the firm's overall growth. Duties:

• Tax Law:
  • Advise clients on income tax issues and other tax matters.
  • Develop tax strategies in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Ensure clients’ tax obligations are met while minimizing liabilities.
• Estates & Trusts:
  • Handle estate planning and administration, including trust creation and management.
  • Advise on estate tax strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Administer estates and trusts to ensure legal and tax compliance.
• Small Business Law:
  • Assist with the formation of corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
  • Draft and review business agreements, including operating and buy/sell agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance to small businesses during operations, acquisitions, and sales.
• Litigation Support:
  • Oversee and manage litigation related to corporate and estate matters.
  • Provide support for litigation, though this will be a smaller part of the role.
  • Collaborate with senior partners to represent clients effectively in court.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar and in good standing.
• A book of business valued at approximately $300,000.
• Strong experience in tax law, estate planning and administration, and small business law.
• Ability to independently manage and grow a diverse caseload.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active New Jersey State Bar License (required).

Skills:

• Expertise in tax, estate planning, and small business law.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
• Litigation experience (preferred but not a primary focus).
• Ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
