Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to handle business and commercial litigation cases. This role requires a highly experienced litigator who can manage cases from inception to resolution across state and federal courts. The attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research, representing clients, and managing litigation strategies in high-stakes cases. The position involves close collaboration with the firm's leadership while allowing for significant autonomy in case management.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in business and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Develop and implement case strategies from start to finish, including research, pleadings, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients to resolve legal conflicts.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including contracts, briefs, affidavits, and motions.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and appellate proceedings.
  • Oversee litigation processes with a high degree of autonomy, while communicating regularly with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and assist with the supervision of litigation staff.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing business and commercial litigation cases from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of Florida's state and federal court procedures.
  • Advanced legal writing and research skills.
  • Ability to effectively argue dispositive motions and evidentiary hearings.
  • Experience with non-jury trials; jury trial experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active member of The Florida Bar in good standing.
  • Admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of business and commercial litigation laws and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills for guiding junior attorneys and legal staff.
