Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Corporate Investment Funds Regulatory Associate Attorney with a solid background in asset management regulations. The ideal candidate should comprehensively understand the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940, with additional experience in private equity and hedge fund formation.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on matters related to asset management regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis about the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Assist in the formation and structuring of private equity and hedge funds.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including fund offering memoranda, agreements, and compliance policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant asset management regulatory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Experience in private equity and hedge fund formation is advantageous.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.

  • Excellent understanding of asset management regulations.
