The ideal candidate should comprehensively understand the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940, with additional experience in private equity and hedge fund formation.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on matters related to asset management regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis about the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Assist in the formation and structuring of private equity and hedge funds.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including fund offering memoranda, agreements, and compliance policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant asset management regulatory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Experience in private equity and hedge fund formation is advantageous.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
