A law firm in Fort Washington, PA is seeking an Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate should possess 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience, with a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code.

 

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will primarily manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters, draft and review pleadings and claims, respond to objections and motions, attend hearings, and handle general bankruptcy inquiries. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism are essential for success in this role.

 

Duties:

  • Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters
  • Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed
  • Respond to objections and motions
  • Attend scheduled hearings
  • Respond to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Document preparation and execution
  • Draft and review all filings on behalf of clients
  • Monitor electronic filings (ECFs)
  • Regular communication with clients

 

Requirements:

  • JD Law degree
  • Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania preferred
  • 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience
  • Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy rules/laws and general creditor rights laws
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Ability to learn and utilize different case management systems
  • Solid understanding of consumer loan documents
  • Effective time management
  • Communication skills

 

Education & Certifications:

  • JD Law degree
  • License to practice law in Pennsylvania preferred
  • Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and Federal Districts in Pennsylvania
  • Admissions in other jurisdictions a strong plus
