A law firm seeks an experienced and proactive Attorney Specialist to join its Asset Management and Investment Funds practice group. This permanent position is ideal for lawyers who are not seeking a partnership track but want to contribute their expertise to a growing and specialized area of law. The role focuses on providing legal support in derivative transactions and repurchase agreements for registered investment company clients, such as mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled attorney to work with top-tier clients and manage complex matters within a dynamic team.

Duties

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on derivative transactions and repurchase agreements for registered investment companies, including mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds.
  • Provide legal guidance and support in managing client relationships, especially with large mutual fund clients.
  • Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of key legal documents related to asset management and investment funds.
  • Participate in various legal projects and initiatives within the Asset Management and Investment Funds practice group.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by managing or contributing to team efforts on complex legal matters.
  • Offer strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of direct experience in asset management or investment funds, including familiarity with derivatives and repurchase agreements.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proven project management experience and the ability to lead or contribute meaningfully to team efforts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing excellent client service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make a long-term commitment to the firm's Asset Management and Investment Funds group.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Massachusetts (or eligible for admission).
