Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Houston is seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of experience in handling all phases of commercial litigation cases. The ideal candidate will be proficient in drafting pleadings and discovery documents, arguing motions, conducting depositions, and preparing cases for trial. Strong academic credentials, excellent drafting, research, and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis of complex legal issues.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
• Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines effectively.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Texas State Bar in good standing.
• 4-6 years of experience practicing commercial litigation at a law firm.
• Proven track record of managing complex litigation matters independently.
• Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Experience with e-discovery and document management systems is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in federal court litigation and appeals.
• Familiarity with Texas court procedures and rules of civil procedure.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
