Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Led and managed IP litigation cases, including briefing, motions practice, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with experts and handle PTAB or trial proceedings.
  • Supervise junior associates and paralegals, providing guidance and support in case management.
  • Work closely with clients, offering strategic advice and representing them in various IP-related legal matters.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure case deadlines and objectives are met.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IP litigation.
  • Experience in managing cases, briefing, taking depositions, and working with experts.
  • Prior experience in PTAB or trial proceedings is highly preferred.
  • A proven record of running cases and supervising junior staff.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in North Carolina or eligibility for immediate licensure.
  • A technical background, such as an engineering degree, is preferred but not required.
  • USPTO registration is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Expertise in intellectual property law, particularly patent litigation.
  • Strong litigation skills, including brief writing, depositions, and trial support.
  • Exceptional organizational and case management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • High level of professionalism, with a client-centered approach to legal services.
