A law firm seeks a Transactional Franchise & Distribution Associate Attorney to join its practice in New York City, NY. This role is designed for an attorney experienced in U.S. franchising regulations, with proficiency in drafting franchise agreements and managing regulatory compliance. The position offers the opportunity to engage in complex business transactions within the franchise sector, providing legal guidance to a diverse client base, both domestic and international.

Duties:

  • Draft and review franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, and other regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients on complex business transactions related to franchise and distribution law.
  • Counsel both domestic and international clients on franchising compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys on transactional and litigation issues within franchise law.
  • Serve a wide-ranging client base, including emerging franchisors, established franchise corporations, private equity firms, and international businesses expanding into the U.S.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transactional franchise law.
  • Proficiency in U.S. franchising regulations and compliance standards.
  • Admission to practice law in New York, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.
