Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
An established and growing law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team, specializing in creditors' rights and real estate law. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while providing comprehensive legal services across various practice areas, including litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and more. Duties:

  • Represent clients in legal matters related to creditors' rights, including foreclosures, bankruptcies, and complex litigation.
  • Manage and litigate cases from start to finish, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
  • Provide counsel on legal issues involving TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including motions, pleadings, and other court filings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff to develop legal strategies and ensure effective case management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering sound judgment and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Participate in appellate proceedings and provide analysis on legal issues of first impression.
  • Engage in business development and networking to expand the firm’s reputation and client base.
  • Travel for court appearances and client meetings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar is required; eligibility to obtain admission to the federal district and bankruptcy courts in Missouri is essential.
  • At least 5 years of litigation experience preferred; newly licensed attorneys will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in creditors' rights law, bankruptcy, and foreclosure preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appellate experience is a plus.
  • A proactive, client-centric approach with the ability to manage a high volume of cases.
  • Excellent leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with clients and colleagues to position the firm as a trusted advisor.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Missouri State Bar membership required.
  • Additional Bar licenses in other jurisdictions are a plus.
