A law firm seeks an experienced First Party Coverage Attorney to join its Miami office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in first-party insurance coverage, including both litigation and property insurance. The role involves providing legal counsel and representing clients in complex first-party coverage matters while collaborating with a dynamic and growing team. Duties:

  • Represent clients in first-party insurance coverage matters, including property insurance and related claims.
  • Manage a caseload of both state and federal court cases, focusing on insurance litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Handle all aspects of case management, including taking and defending depositions, attending court hearings, and providing legal strategy and advice to clients.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, ensuring optimal outcomes for clients in complex first-party coverage disputes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and senior partners to further develop business and provide high-quality legal services.
  • Keep clients informed of case progress and developments, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by engaging in business development activities, including networking, client meetings, and industry-related events.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on first-party insurance coverage and property claims.
  • Proven experience in case management in both state and federal courts, including drafting legal documents and motions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly to clients and in court.
  • Ability to handle a caseload independently while working collaboratively with team members and clients.
  • Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with a focus on insurance law.
  • Prior experience in handling both first-party property and insurance defense matters is highly preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar (required).
  • Additional state bar memberships are a plus.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of first-party insurance coverage, including property and liability claims.
  • Strong litigation skills with experience in drafting legal documents, taking depositions, and managing cases through trial.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities, with attention to detail in all aspects of casework.
