Job Overview: A growing legal practice is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Labor & Employment team in Birmingham, AL. Duties:

  • Handle employment law matters including litigation and representation before administrative agencies.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and participate in case strategy development.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts.
  • Communicate with clients to provide legal counsel and case updates.
  • Review legal documents and prepare for hearings, trials, and other proceedings.
  • Assist with discovery, including depositions and interrogatories.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong writing skills, with a passion for crafting detailed and persuasive legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and legal teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Prior clerkship experience is highly regarded.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active law license to practice in Alabama or ability to gain admission.
