A law firm is seeking a Property Tax and Condemnation Associate Attorney for its Rochester location. The Property Tax and Condemnation Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling real property tax litigation, assessment challenges, valuation issues, and eminent domain matters. Strong verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a New York State law license.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in real property tax litigation proceedings.
  • Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research on property tax laws, regulations, and case precedents.
  • Advise clients on valuation issues and assessment challenges.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements with tax authorities and opposing parties.
  • Handle eminent domain matters, including negotiations and litigation.

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a practicing attorney in real property, tax, or litigation.
  • Familiarity with property tax laws and assessment procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
