Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Blockchain Associate Attorney to join its team in New York, NM. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of blockchain technology and experience in advising blockchain companies at all stages of growth. This role involves assisting clients with venture capital financings, token issuances, corporate structuring, DAO formation, and navigating the evolving regulatory landscape. The position also includes supporting general venture capital and tech company corporate transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise blockchain companies on venture capital financings, corporate structuring, and token issuances.
  • Assist with the formation of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).
  • Counsel clients on emerging regulatory issues affecting blockchain and cryptocurrency.
  • Handle general venture capital and corporate transactions for tech companies.
  • Provide legal guidance on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate matters.
  • Work closely with clients to anticipate legal and regulatory developments that could impact their operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal agreements, including shareholder and investor agreements.
  • Stay current on blockchain-related legal trends and regulatory updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, finance, and compliance departments.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in Emerging Companies, Venture Capital, and/or Blockchain/Cryptocurrency law at a major law firm.
  • Expertise in blockchain technology and familiarity with the evolving legal and regulatory framework surrounding it.
  • Strong knowledge of venture capital and startup ecosystems.
  • Proven experience advising on token issuances and related blockchain matters.
  • Ability to manage complex corporate transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico (or eligibility to become a member).
