Job Overview:
A prestigious, full-service law firm is seeking a highly skilled M&A Associate with 4 to 6 years of experience in handling acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, joint ventures, private equity funds, and financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading transactions, drafting definitive agreements, and managing all aspects of deals. Candidates should be capable of independently handling complex matters and collaborating effectively within a team. Applicants must be admitted to the New York Bar.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Leading and managing M&A transactions, including acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, and joint ventures
  • Drafting and negotiating definitive agreements
  • Managing the full lifecycle of a transaction, from initial negotiations to closing
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure all aspects of deals are addressed
  • Conducting legal research and providing strategic advice on M&A matters
  • Mentoring and training junior associates
  • Assisting in business development and client relations
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in M&A, with a background in big law
  • Experience leading transactions and managing complex deal structures
  • In-depth understanding of mergers, acquisitions, private equity, and joint ventures
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent communication and client-management skills
  • Admitted to the New York Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility to become admitted)

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the New York Bar (required)
