A renowned law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Private Wealth and Fiduciary Litigation Team in Menlo Park, CA. This role focuses on high-stakes legal disputes involving private wealth, including trusts, decedents’ estates, and conservatorships/adult guardianships. The successful candidate will handle cases involving fiduciary duty breaches, estate mismanagement, and financial elder abuse, offering opportunities for substantial trial experience and direct client engagement.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation concerning trusts, estates, and conservatorships/adult guardianships.
  • Handle claims involving breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, fiduciary misconduct, and estate mismanagement.
  • Participate in a heavy trial practice with frequent courtroom engagements.
  • Counsel clients on legal issues related to investment mismanagement, financial elder abuse, and will or trust disputes.
  • Collaborate with clients on sensitive family disputes involving private wealth.
  • Engage in business development opportunities within this niche area of law.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Experience in trusts and estates litigation, or familiarity with related legal issues (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Admitted to the California State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.
