A law firm in Lake Success, NY, is seeking a Trusts & Estates Planning Associate Attorney to support and expand its estate planning and elder law practice. Location:

Duties:

  • Draft and implement estate planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, families with special needs, and other clients.

  • Prepare wills, powers of attorney, health care proxies, trusts, and other related documents.

  • Assist clients with Medicaid applications and asset protection strategies.

  • Counsel clients on estate and tax planning, asset preservation, and elder law matters.

  • Provide guidance on trust funding and planning for individuals with special needs.

  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex legal matters.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.

  • 5+ years of experience in estate and tax planning, asset preservation, and/or elder law.

  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, trust funding, and planning for individuals with special needs.

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to approach legal planning with empathy, clarity, and client-focused solutions.

  • Interest or experience in alternative dispute resolution is a plus.

  • A small book of business is welcomed but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar License (Required).

  • Expertise in estate planning, elder law, and tax planning.

  • Strong legal drafting and document preparation skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
