The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, municipal law, or a related field. This role involves filing legal complaints, preparing legal documents, and representing clients, as well as assisting with case work, conducting interviews, and managing discovery processes. The attorney will work closely with a Supervising Attorney and contribute to various legal tasks and client interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • File legal complaints and prepare legal documents for personal injury and municipal law cases.
  • Offer legal advice and represent clients in court as needed.
  • Assist the Supervising Attorney with case work-up and motions.
  • Conduct client and witness interviews to gather and evaluate information.
  • Depose witnesses and clients.
  • Assist with Plaintiff’s discovery preparation.
  • Review and analyze medical records and bills.
  • Delegate assignments to team paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Return and respond to client and defense counsel communications.
  • Perform legal research as required.
  • Maintain proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, municipal law, or a related field preferred.
  • Licensed to practice Law in the State of Illinois.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized with a strong ability to problem-solve and strategize.
  • Compassion for helping clients and adaptability to their needs based on health status.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
