Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Duties:

  • Conduct client consultations and provide tailored legal guidance.
  • Supervise and oversee legal assistants and support staff on client matters.
  • Develop strategies and guide clients in gathering necessary information and documentation for their cases.
  • Research complex immigration issues, offering insightful and innovative solutions.
  • Handle cases involving defensive and affirmative asylum, U visas, T visas, VAWA, waivers, and similar immigration matters.
  • Prepare for and attend immigration court proceedings, including hearings related to removal proceedings.
  • Draft, prepare, and review briefs, motions, and pleadings while conducting thorough legal research.
  • Update clients on case progress and maintain regular communication.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to coordinate case management with support staff.
  • Manage a substantial caseload efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a licensed attorney handling removal proceedings, humanitarian, and family-based immigration cases.
  • Proficiency in legal research software, such as Lexis.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong client service orientation.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent command of English grammar and writing.
  • Effective self-management and accountability with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
