A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Scottsdale, AZ. The ideal candidate will provide thorough and practical assessments and advice while advocating for clients throughout the legal collection process, maintaining integrity, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties:

  • Provide thorough and practical legal assessments and advice to clients.
  • Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.
  • Prepare and sign pleadings for all phases of litigation.
  • Make court appearances throughout the litigation lifecycle, including first chairing any trials.
  • Communicate effectively and responsively with firm clients, opposing counsel, opposing parties, and court staff.
  • Implement strategies to collect on judgments obtained on behalf of clients, including garnishments, depositions, and repossession strategies.
  • Provide guidance and training to administrative staff.
  • Conduct legal research to make successful legal arguments and recommendations to firm clients.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Document account/file activity in accordance with firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Travel to various courts in the state and effectively handle all aspects of a case’s litigation life cycle.
  • Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to stay current on local, state, and federal law changes, court rules, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in Arizona.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate with other employees to utilize resources and knowledge to identify high-quality solutions.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities to meet business requirements and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses leadership skills and the ability to motivate other employees to achieve results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across a broad spectrum of attorney and non-attorney recipients, including all levels within the organization and external.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Active Bar membership in Arizona

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively

Experience:

1-7 years of commercial litigation experience, preferably in creditors' rights and collections
