A law firm is seeking a Junior Associate/Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their team in Houston, TX. This role will primarily support the Energy & Infrastructure group, focusing on financing renewable energy assets and monetizing tax credits. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years of transactional tax experience, specifically in the tax aspects of renewable energy transactions. Membership to the TX State Bar is required.

Job Overview:

  • Support the Energy & Infrastructure group in financing renewable energy assets and monetizing tax credits.
  • Assist developers, sponsors, and investors in developing wind, solar, and other renewable energy projects.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support for renewable energy transactions, including tax equity financings and M&A.
  • Assist in structuring tax credit transactions related to renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on tax issues about renewable energy transactions.
  • Draft and review transactional documents, agreements, and contracts.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of transactional tax experience.
  • Experience in the tax aspects of renewable energy transactions, preferably in a large law firm setting.
  • Strong interest in renewable energy and energy transition.
  • Highly motivated and responsive individual.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Logical reasoning and research skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership to the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Ability to analyze complex tax issues and provide solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
